Bible Trivia Track Meet

If you're looking for a youth group activity or a family camp workout, try the Bible Trivia Track Meet. All you need is a jar of pennies, one Bible for each team, and some eager game players. Follow these instructions:

1. Divide up into equal sized teams that include a mixture of runners and Bible scholars and people with enthusiasm.

2. Give each team 15 pennies and one Bible.

3. Assign a "Question Giver" for each team and have these people set up across an open field with the question/answer list in hand. These "Question Givers" should also have 15 pennies in their possession.

Game procedure:

1. On the command, "GET SET---GO" a runner from each team runs to the Question Giver and receives the first trivia question. That person runs back and gives the q to his/her team.

2. If the team knows the answer, they send a runner back to the Question Giver. That runner whispers the answer and if right, receives a penny plus the next question.

3. If the team does not know the answer, they can spend one of their original 15 pennies to get the book of the Bible where the answer can be found.

4. If the team still does not find the answer, they can spend another penny for the chapter and verse where the answer can be found.

5. Not until the correct answer is given, will the Question Giver proceed and give the team the next question. The Question Giver will never give the book and the chapter and verse out at one time. That would require two trips and two pennies--no shortcuts.

6. The first team done gets a three penny bonus, second place gets two pennies and third place receives one. However, finishing first does not guarantee anything. The winning team is the team with the most pennies, not the team that finishes all the questions first.
