| Our church youth group just did an outreach activity
on a Sunday evening that youth coordinator borrowed from
Minot Youth For Christ director Larry Stenson. The idea is
like a scavenger hunt, except this time teams of youth and
an adult driver go hunting for people. After being given instructions,
each team was given just over one hour to get people and collect
as many points as possible. Once time was up, each team returned
to church for an hour of fun and fellowship.
The evening was a smashing success. Six teams of two
or three youth group members collected in all 44 seventh
through twelfth graders. Most had never been to our church
before and most had lots of fun. It was an easy way for
young people to show their friends that church matters
to them and was a non-threatening way to invite them to
check out the youth group.
Below are the guidelines given each team:
WANTED:
Man Hunt (Girl Hunt Too!!)
You are hereby deputized to hunt down and apprehend the
varmints below and to return them to church for an hour
of fun, food, and new friends. Come early to "kidnap" your
friends. Deputies must report back to the church by the
appointed time or 300 points will be subtracted from their
bail total.
'Manhunt' driver w/ vehicle 2500 points
Britney Spears look-alike 1500 points
Someone w/ five or more pets 700 points
Girl who snorts when she laughs 800 points
Freshman who has dated 700 points
School band member w/ instrument 700 points
Swim team member w/ swim cap 1000 points

'Mature' freshman 600 points
Dance team member in uniform 1500 points
Skateboarder w/ board 800 points
Ricky Martin look-alike 1500 points
