Strobe-Light Volleyball

Kids can invent some of the best games. I saw one the other night. I opened up the gym for my sixteen year old daughter and a "few" friends, translated twenty. I left them alone and checked regularly to protect school property and my job. What I found upon entering the gym was a game of strobe-light volleyball. They had doused the lights, plugged in a couple rapid-fire strobes and had the place blinkin'. Then they used an oversized beachball instead of a regular volleyball and away they went. It was like watching an old time movie of a game on the beach played by the light of a campfire--a bit surreal or dreamlike.

I didn't join in, but I wanted to. It looked like the ticket to fun. Maybe I could get a few friends together and--you suppose anyone still has strobes?
